Voices of WWII 4-disc DVD set

$49.95

Six decades ago, a generation of young Americans joined with millions of allies from around the world to take on the greatest human enemy in history.

Some picked up rifles, stormed beaches, dug into foxholes and saw combat firsthand. Some boarded mighty ships in the mightier Pacific Ocean, facing down Japanese aircraft that were just as content to suicide-dive as they were to shoot. Some taught at gunnery schools, worked in military hospitals, directed mortar fire onto enemy positions or flew in bombers.

Some were lucky enough to go through the war unscathed. Others spent years as prisoners of war.

From Memorial Day to Veterans Day 2008, The Hays Daily News collected stories from World War II veterans — for our community, and for posterity. We hope you'll enjoy these videos as much as we've enjoyed bringing them to you.

This 4-Disc DVD set includes stories of 25 Northwest Kansas World War II Veterans told in their own words. Set includes a bonus feature covering local veterans on a special trip to the WWII Monument in Washington D.C. as part of the Horo Flight program.
